mission

The Cardiovascular Research Foundation, one of the world's largest private medical research foundations, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients with cardiovascular disease by advancing the development and use of safe and effective minimally invasive methods for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease. CRF carries out its mission by following three basic principals: INVESTIGATE, EVALUATE, EDUCATE.

INVESTIGATE: CRF investigates early-stage technologies during pre-clinical research. We consult for new device and drug therapies, develop unique experimental models, and offer a full range of histopathology services and advanced cardiac imaging.

EVALUATE: With its Data Coordinating and Analysis Center and Core Analysis Laboratories, CRF evaluates promising new therapies by designing and implementing all phases of human clinical trials. The Data Center specializes in first-in-man studies as well as large-scale, pivotal, multi-center international trials. Services offered by the Data Center include protocol and database development, regulatory representation, case-report form design, statistical analysis, trial site management, and clinical events committees and data safety monitoring boards.

CRF's Core Laboratories provide the highest standards of quality assurance, offering independent qualitative and quantitative analysis of objective clinical data. Several disciplines comprise the Core Laboratories, including angiography, intravascular ultrasound, electrocardiography, echocardiography, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Each of these areas provides protocol development, independent data analysis, and FDA-compliant data tracking and management.

EDUCATE: Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), CRF educates medical professionals and the public to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. CRF develops numerous symposia, workshops, and meetings throughout the year. The annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) symposium, sponsored and organized by CRF, is the world's premier educational event for interventional vascular medicine specialists.

CRF's educational services also include CME program development, specialized physician training programs, and development of innovative learning and marketing materials ranging from online, interactive tutorials to innovative 3D animation and video production.
