Education"Education is fundamentally important to advancing the field of cardiovascular medicine. CRF physicians devote a great deal of their time to preparing demonstrations, writing articles and providing hands-on training, all to keep their colleagues the world over up to date on the latest advances resulting from the work of the Foundation." Roxana Mehran, MD
CRF stands at the forefront of education in cardiovascular medicine. This focus reflects the CRF faculty's commitment to sharing and disseminating the latest clinical research information to the broadest audience at the earliest possible date. The fundamental goal of CRF's education program is to enable the global physician community to apply important new knowledge to actual patient care. CRF's principal annual educational event, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), is the world's largest educational meeting dedicated to the field of interventional vascular therapy. Each year, TCT attracts more than 10,000 participants dedicated to the treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. An important feature of TCT is the transmission via satellite of patient procedures performed live in numerous medical centers, both in the USA and around the world. Such presentations provide an extraordinary opportunity for the physician audience to observe the latest treatments and techniques in action. TCT also provides the setting for over 1200 lectures presented by world leaders in the field. The lectures cover not only the gamut of issues pertaining to interventional vascular medicine, but also the latest basic science and clinical developments that continue to contribute to the momentum of this rapidly advancing subspecialty. CRF's fellowship programs offer both clinical and research curricula in interventional cardiovascular medicine. CRF faculty members conduct, organize, and participate in many other conferences and symposia throughout the year and around the world. CRF's affiliated Web sites, TCTConference.com, TCTMD.com, TCTatHome.com, and HeartHealthyWomen.org are dedicated to presenting ongoing, up-to-the-minute developments in the field. |
